In honor of VPW’s former creative director, Edith Kravitz, who initiated the VPW TeacherTips Awards program, we invite teachers to review some of the many Tips that have been submitted over the past years. These Tips describe creative, inventive and effective ways that VPW’s free materials have been used in their classrooms. We hope that these Tips will be useful to you in your classroom.

TeacherTips on Teaching...
Edith retired shortly after being diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - also knows as Lou Gehrig’s disease). She is a former teacher herself and knows what an important role teachers play in inspiring young minds. For this reason, Edith encourages educators to include information about diseases like ALS in their classroom activities. Students will be well-served to learn that many adults face extreme difficulties, and that these afflictions do not diminish them as people. This information may be used in many different subject areas, including biology, science, social studies, health and volunteerism. Click here for resources available to you.
