MISSION STATEMENT The Insurance Education Foundation (IEF) is a non-profit charitable organization located in Indianapolis, Indiana, whose goal is to improve the understanding of insurance and its role in society through the education of teachers and students. The real world of financial planning and providing can be overwhelming to people of all ages, especially young people. Schools are increasingly aware of the need for instruction that prepares students to take care of themselves once they are on their own, financially and otherwise, by making good decisions. Included under the financial umbrella is insurance. Imagine where any of us would be without insurance in the event of a major illness, the death of a family provider, a devastating automobile accident, or a disastrous loss of home and possessions! No doubt, the subject of insurance can be intimidating to teachers too, and the Insurance Education Foundation (IEF) is here to help. The following is a repertoire of programs, educational materials and resources, that IEF has to offer - all free to teachers for the asking and suitable for secondary education. Any of these materials can be requested by email (info@ief.org), by phone (1-800-433-4811), or through IEF's web site (www.ief.org).
